Dear friend,
My name is Anders, and I'm the CEO of Brattoo Propaganda Software. I know that around Christmas it can be stressful, so I’ll keep this short. In my last two emails I have asked for your ideas and feedback. Susan in Australia told me about her experience with ordering prints using one of the new third party printing options in Photos. The photo option is really a feature many of us could use around Christmas. These prints could be used as gifts or as a way to summarize the year. I’ll get back to this further down in this letter.
Photos Tagger – more features
Recently, we added new features to Photos Tagger including faster keyword extraction and holiday keywords. Now, we are looking into adding keywords related to the faces in the photos. We all appreciate when the eyes are open, the face is not blurry, and preferably, there is a smile there as well. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to get those features as keywords, making it easier to locate great photos? We are working on this in our labs right now! We expect to release a first version of those new features soon. Meanwhile, you can download and enjoy the current features of Photos Tagger from here: https://brattoo.com/#photostagger
Duplicate Annihilator – A new Major release
We have made some serious updates to Duplicate Annihilator for Photos. Being able to switch libraries and marking the detected duplicates, not only with the description/comments field but also by keywords or by assigning them to albums. This has been a requested feature for a long time, and it is available today! Download your copy of Duplicate Annihilator for Photos v3.0.0 from: https://brattoo.com/#photos
Photos and the missing printing service
As I mentioned in an earlier newsletter, in Photos 4.0, which came with macOS 10.14 Mojave, the built-in feature to design and order printed books, cards, calendars etc. was removed and replaced with the option to use third part printing plugins and services. This is good since it gives us much more to choose from. It also makes it much harder to choose which services are good and which are not. If during this gifting time of the year you may be ordering printed gifts or gifts to summarize the year, I would like to hear about your experiences using those third party printing services. I’m interested in all your stories, good or bad, short or long.
Now, as I promised to I’ll keep this short, and since I know that many of you have so much to do this time of the year, I thank you for reading this! I’ll get back to you next year.
This newsletter and previous letters
Several of our readers have requested that we resend previous emails so that they could catch up on earlier tips and information. All previous emails are available online in our Newsletter section at https://newsletter.brattoo.com
The free apps section
As I have mentioned in previous letters we have received requests on how to automate some tasks in Apple Photos or tasks related to photos. Those tasks might be tedious to work out manually but are easy for us to solve. The apps include a tool to set the Photos Titles based on filename (with or without file extension), a tool to copy and apply GPS coordinates between photos and finally a utility to set the correct file dates on image files based on the photo date stored in the metadata within the image files. You’ll find all our free apps at https://free.brattoo.com.
Upgrades
Finally I would just like to tell you that our upgrade discount for Duplicate Annihilator for Photos is still available. For only $4.95 you can upgrade any old Duplicate Annihilator license to Duplicate Annihilator for Photos and for just one dollar ($1.00) more you can upgrade any old Duplicate Annihilator license to the Duplicate Annihilator Toolbox including a family pack! This means that you get five licenses for you and your family for all versions of Duplicate Annihilator including iPhoto, Aperture, iOS and Photos for only $5.95.

Thank you for your time, I hope that you found this email informative. If you have any feedback, suggestions, questions or ideas then please reply to this email. I read all emails and reply to them in person.
