Hi,
My name is Anders and I'm the CEO of Brattoo Propaganda Software. I know, it has been so long since my last newsletter and the reasons are many. I have quit my job after 23 years and started a new career at another company, and my involvement in the AI community has evolved significantly. I will, for example, speak about AI at one of Sweden's most prestigious banking conferences later this autumn. Among the other 16 speakers at that conference, we find Sweden's Minister of Financial Markets as well as the Deputy Governor of the Swedish Central Bank. Right now, it seems like everything is about AI, and everything else is somewhat at a halt. This is also mostly true for what I’m doing. Well, let's get into it, I hope that you will enjoy it.
Duplicate Annihilator for Photos – now with AI
In my last newsletter, I wrote about implementing AI and machine learning technologies in Duplicate Annihilator, and we have done so. So what does this really mean? Initially, Duplicate Annihilator works just as it has always done, but while it detects duplicates, it analyses the digital data of the files and utilises machine learning algorithms to find new patterns that can be used for future detection of duplicates. We have done some extensive testing of this in our labs, and we get some pretty amazing results. Duplicate Annihilator for Photos version 9 is available for download today from https://brattoo.com/photos
Important! When running Duplicate Annihilator for Photos v9, macOS may complain that it is not properly code-signed and you need to give permissions in the System Preferences. This is extremely frustrating. To be able to code-sign our software, we need to accept Apple's macOS Paid Apps Agreement. Which we would love to do, the only problem is that we have tried to accept that each day for three months now, and each time we are met with a “please try again later”. According to Apple, they have “escalated the issue” for whatever that is worth. The silly thing is that the agreement only applies to apps sold in the Mac App Store, which we don’t do, so the agreement does not even apply to us. As you understand, this is extremely frustrating, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
AI Classroom – ask the questions you haven’t dared to ask
Since I’m so deep into the AI community and get a lot of requests, I have decided to try a new concept. I know there are many out there who don’t really know what this is all about but would like to know more about what all this AI, chatGPT, Midjourney, and so on hype is all about. So I’m starting my AI Classroom, which will initially be three occasions where I address and explain various topics based on your requests. The classes will be live, and we will be using Zoom, so interaction is possible. One class will cost 19.95 USD, or you can buy all three for 50 USD. So take the chance and learn exciting new stuff and how AI can help you. The classes will take place at:
Tuesday the 18:th July 2023 at 11AM Pacific Time (8PM CEST)
Wednesday the 19:th July 2023 at 11AM Pacific Time (8PM CEST)
Thursday the 20:th July 2023 at 11AM Pacific Time (8PM CEST)
All three at a discounted price
A cool AI project – Whispering Pines Radio
While I’m at it, I would like to tell you about a cool, completely AI-rendered project I recently created. I couldn’t sleep last night and thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be nice to listen to a creepy late-night talk show where strange individuals call the radio station and tell bizarre stories?" So I created a chatGPT prompt that did just that. But I wanted to listen to it, so I created another prompt that built a Python script which took care of the radio show script, called the Eleven Labs API, generated voices, put them together, and posted them to Acast.
So, in less than two hours, I had my setup up and running. One click on a button generates and publishes a new episode in less than two minutes. So how is it? Well, find out for yourself here or wherever you find your podcasts. https://shows.acast.com/whispering-pines-radio-with-dante-emberwood Episode seven is extra interesting since in that episode I cloned my own voice and had chatGPT pretend to be me as a special guest in the show using only a few bullet points.
This is an interesting concept since it means that I could literally feed the script-generating prompts with whatever I like, like today's news or the latest in AI or muffin recipes, and suddenly I have my own podcast talking about exactly what I’m interested in just a minute or two. It’s like a personal Pod on demand as a service generator.
1 on 1 training sessions
It is indeed great fun to meet you guys in my 1 on 1 training sessions. If you haven’t tried, it but feel that it might be something for you, please feel free to email me. The training sessions can be about anything and will be customized based on your requests. I have over 25 years of experience in the Mac platform, I have been an Apple Solution Expert and have held training in various software over the years. Training sessions are on request by contacting me at training@brattoo.com. Each session is 1 hour and costs 79 USD. If you want to learn more about something, email me at training@brattoo.com and we’ll work out a session just for you.
The free apps section
As I have mentioned in previous letters we have received requests on how to automate some tasks in Apple Photos or tasks related to photos. Those tasks might be tedious to work out manually but are easy for us to solve. The apps include a tool to set the Photos Titles based on the filename (with or without file extension), a tool to copy and apply GPS coordinates between photos, a tool to copy XMP sidecars to image files and finally a utility to set the correct file dates on image files based on the photo date stored in the metadata within the image files. You’ll find all our free apps at https://free.brattoo.com.
