Hi,
My name is Anders, and I'm the CEO of Brattoo Propaganda Software. I know it's been a long time since my last newsletter. For the past few months, I've been deeply involved in the AI community, especially regarding the new and exciting ChatGPT, which I guess most of you have heard about. My involvement in this community has also resulted in some new ideas regarding our products. Much work is in progress, so this will be an unusually short newsletter with a slightly different approach. I hope you will enjoy it.
Take care and stay safe.
The AI Community and What is Happening
This is completely out of line with what I usually write about, but I still think it's important because what we are now seeing is a paradigm shift in the way we interact with technology, and it's happening fast. If you haven't tried ChatGPT yet, I really encourage you to do so because I believe that this will really change everything. I have done a lot of writing lately about this technology and how it can be used. If you're interested in that, you can follow me on LinkedIn or join the ChatGPT Expert group on Facebook, where I'm a moderator, group expert, and post my latest findings and hints.
For those of you who are already experimenting with this I have a small workflow that I created in Alfred that by utilizing the OpenAI API brings the capabilities of chatGPT to all applications. I call it GPT Everything and it is available for free from https://brattoo.com/gpteverything.
Duplicate Annihilator and Photos Finder – Soon with AI
Yes, I have learned a lot lately, and we are currently working hard on implementing various AI technologies in both Duplicate Annihilator and Photos Finder to improve their capabilities. We expect to release Duplicate Annihilator and Photos Finder later this spring, full of new exciting technology and features.
Upgrades and Price Changes
I'm a stubborn guy, and I don't like software subscriptions. I like the idea of paying once and then using the software, and based on many questions about this during my 1 on 1 training sessions, I get the idea that most of you also prefer that pricing model. Unfortunately, the whole software industry is moving toward the subscription model, but as I said, I'm a stubborn guy, so I don't. However, due to world economics and inflation, we have to increase our prices by the end of the month, which means that a standard license for Duplicate Annihilator will now be $8.95 USD instead of $7.95 USD. This is the first increase we have had in 20 years, so I hope for your understanding.
So if you plan on upgrading your license for Duplicate Annihilator or perhaps purchasing Photos Finder, now is the time to do so if you want to save a dollar. And yes, the upgrades and licenses purchased now will be valid for the upcoming Duplicate Annihilator and Photos Finder.
1 on 1 training sessions
It is indeed great fun to meet you guys in my 1 on 1 training sessions. If you haven’t tried, it but feel that it might be something for you, please feel free to email me. The training sessions can be about anything and will be customized based on your requests. I have over 25 years of experience in the Mac platform, I have been an Apple Solution Expert and have held training in various software over the years. Training sessions are on request by contacting me at training@brattoo.com. Each session is 1 hour and costs 79 USD. If you want to learn more about something, email me at training@brattoo.com and we’ll work out a session just for you.
The free apps section
As I have mentioned in previous letters we have received requests on how to automate some tasks in Apple Photos or tasks related to photos. Those tasks might be tedious to work out manually but are easy for us to solve. The apps include a tool to set the Photos Titles based on the filename (with or without file extension), a tool to copy and apply GPS coordinates between photos, a tool to copy XMP sidecars to image files and finally a utility to set the correct file dates on image files based on the photo date stored in the metadata within the image files. You’ll find all our free apps at https://free.brattoo.com.
